FocuShift ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices when using the FocuShift app and website.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- First and last name
- Password (stored securely; we never see your actual password)
This data is stored using Firebase Authentication (Google).
Content You Create
We store the content you create in the app:
- Scripts: AI-generated affirmation scripts, your edits, and survey answers used to create them
- Playlists: Playlist names and script arrangements
- Audio files: Generated and uploaded audio, stored in Firebase Storage
- Cloned voices: If you use voice cloning, we store metadata about your cloned voice; your voice sample is sent to ElevenLabs to create the clone
Usage Data
We collect usage information to provide and improve the service:
- Script generation counts, word counts, and token usage (for quota limits)
- Text-to-speech character usage
- Analytics events (e.g., script generated, audio played) via Firebase Analytics
Analytics data is aggregated and does not include personally identifiable content from your scripts.
Device & Local Storage
- Keychain: If you enable biometric sign-in, your password is stored in the iOS Keychain on your device only
- Local files: Scripts, playlists, and imported audio may be cached locally on your device
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide the FocuShift service (script generation, audio creation, playlists, sync)
- To enforce subscription and usage limits
- To improve the app and fix issues
- To communicate with you (e.g., support, important updates)
- For analytics to understand how the app is used (aggregated, non-personal)
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate FocuShift:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Analytics
- OpenAI: AI script generation — your survey answers and script text are sent to OpenAI to generate affirmations
- ElevenLabs: Text-to-speech and voice cloning — script text is sent for TTS; if you clone your voice, your voice sample is sent to ElevenLabs
- Apple: App Store, subscriptions (StoreKit), and push notifications (if enabled)
Each service has its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing their policies:
4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will:
- Delete your Firestore data (scripts, playlists, usage, cloned voice metadata)
- Delete your audio files from Firebase Storage
- Request deletion of your cloned voice from ElevenLabs
- Delete your Firebase Auth account
Some data may persist in backups for a limited time. Analytics data may be retained in aggregated form.
5. Your Rights
- Access & export: You can request a copy of your data
- Deletion: You can delete your account at any time in Account Settings; we will remove your data as described above
- Correction: You can update your profile and content in the app
- Opt-out of analytics: You can limit ad tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking

6. Security
We use industry-standard security practices, including encryption in transit and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Sensitive credentials (e.g., for biometric login) are stored in the iOS Keychain.
7. Children
FocuShift is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with data, please contact us.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
